The Longest Minutes of My Life – Waiting on My 4th and Final GED Test Results.

This morning felt different the moment I woke up.

I was on time. Not just on time — early. I arrived 30 minutes before my GED test, sitting there with everything running through my mind. This wasn’t just another test. This was it. My last one. The final step.

GED Math.

The one I knew would challenge me.

When I finally sat down and started the test, I locked in. Question by question, I gave it everything I had. Some problems felt good, others made me pause, but I kept pushing through. When it was all said and done, I ended up reviewing about 13 out of the 40 questions. That alone told me something — I cared enough to go back, to check, to make sure I gave my best effort.

But the truth is… I don’t know how I did.

And now I’m here waiting.

Last night, I barely slept. My mind wouldn’t slow down. I kept thinking about formulas, problems, “what ifs.” Anxiety tried to creep in, but at the same time, I felt something else too — confidence. Not because I knew every answer, but because I knew I studied. I showed up. I didn’t quit.

Now the test is over… and somehow the waiting is harder.

My anxiety is high right now. It’s like my emotions are bouncing all over the place. One minute I feel calm, the next minute I feel like I could throw up. My heart races just thinking about the results popping up on the screen.

And as I’m sitting here writing this blog, I’m honestly holding back tears. Not just one kind either — sad tears, happy tears… all of it. The feeling of not knowing is a weight that’s incredibly heavy. It’s sitting on my chest, in my mind, in my emotions all at once.

This moment right here feels like time slowed down.

Minutes feel like hours.

All because of one thing — not knowing.

Not knowing if I passed.
Not knowing if I graduated.
Not knowing if today is the day everything changes.

But even in the middle of all this, I’m choosing to believe.

I’m believing that I passed.
I’m believing that I graduated.
I’m thanking God in advance like it’s already done.

And at the same time, I’m controlling my breathing, trying to stay grounded, reminding myself: no matter what happens, I made it this far.

That matters.

Right now, I’m sitting here typing this not just for me, but for anyone else who’s going to experience this same moment someday.

Because this right here — this feeling — nobody really talks about.

The last test hits different.

It’s not just a test anymore. It’s everything you’ve been working toward. It’s months of studying, frustration, progress, setbacks, late nights, and discipline all leading up to one moment.

And then… you wait.

If you’re reading this and you haven’t reached this point yet, just know — it’s coming. And when it does, it’s going to feel like the longest, slowest minutes of your life.

You’re going to feel everything at once.

Fear.
Hope.
Anxiety.
Excitement.

Maybe even tears — whether from stress or from joy.

I don’t know yet what my result is.

But I do know this:

I showed up.
I gave it my all.
I didn’t quit.

And right now, that has to be enough.

Now I wait.

And no matter what happens next… this moment is part of the journey.
