My GED Language Story

I Almost Threw Up During My GED Language Test (But I Passed)

Let me tell you something nobody talks about when it comes to the GED.

Sometimes itโ€™s not the reading passages that test you.

Itโ€™s your stomach.

After I sat down for my GED Language Arts test, I felt it immediately anxiety.

The room was hot.
The air felt thick.
My nerves were working overtime.

And then it hit me.

I felt nauseous.

Right in the middle of a reading passage.

Iโ€™m trying to analyze argumentsโ€ฆ and my body is arguing with me.

But the nausea stayed.

For a moment, I honestly thought:

โ€œAm I about to throw up during my GED test?โ€

That would have been a story.

Hereโ€™s the Lesson

Life will not wait until everything feels comfortable.

Sometimes you have to:

  • Read while you feel nervous
  • Think while your heart is racing
  • Focus while youโ€™re uncomfortable
  • Push through when your body says quit

The test wasnโ€™t just academic.

It was mental toughness.

I had two options:

  1. Panic
  2. Lock in

I chose to lock in.

I slowed my breathing.
I kept reading.
I answered one question at a time.

And I finished.

The Result?

I passed.

February 26th, 2026

Result 150.

Not perfect.
Not flashy.

But I passed.

And thatโ€™s what matters.

What This Means For You

There will be distractions.

There will be nerves.

There will be moments where you feel uncomfortable, tired, or overwhelmed.

Hold it together.

Push through.

Finish what you started.

Because sometimes the victory isnโ€™t just passing the test.

Itโ€™s proving to yourself that you can stay calm under pressure โ€” even when your stomach has other plans.

Have faith.
Stay focused.
And finish strong.

The only thing standing between you and your GEDโ€ฆ is quitting.

Donโ€™t quit.
